Macadamia Nuts - 4 Amazing Recipies you have to Try!

Ok so we thought today we would introduce you to Macadamia Nuts and some of the fantastic dishes that we LOOOVVVE! We picked 4 that we thought are scrumptous and so yummy, that we were tempted to cook them. So here's our selection of cooking with macadamia nuts.

White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies

Whipping up a batch of these chewy and buttery cookies is a breeze. The first thing you need to do is to preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celcious. Easy enough, right?

Next, combine your dry ingredients – baking soda, flour, and salt. Set aside for later. Still with me so far? Great!

The next step is to mix the white and brown sugar with the butter. I recommend mixing the batter by hand so you don’t add too much heat to the batter. Don’t take this step for granted – this process incorporates air into your dough, which is what gives your cookies volume.

Macadamia White Chocolate Cookies

Here’s a tip: add more brown than white sugar for this recipe. It’s the brown sugar that gives cookies that moist and chewy consistency.

Once you’ve turned the butter and sugar into a smooth mixture, add in the eggs one at a time. Then, add the vanilla extract.

Now, add your dry ingredients carefully into the mix (flour, baking soda, and salt). Whisk gradually until you form a creamy mixture. Add the white chocolate and macadamia nuts.

Place tablespoons of cookie dough onto cookie sheets. Bake for 10 minutes or until the edges become golden brown. Take out of the oven and cool for a bit before devouring!

Our second dish is somewhat controversial but we love it, its a Hummus dip YUM.

2. Macadamia Nut Hummus

Macadamia Nut Hommus

I’m a big hummus eater who never could have dreamed how incredible macadamia nuts taste in this dip.

Combining the standard hummus ingredients with macadamia nuts manages to make it even richer and creamier. Plus, it only takes 10-minutes to make.

You only need 5-ingredients to make this Macadamia Nut Hummus:

  • Canned Chickpeas
  • Garlic
  • Tahini
  • Lemon Juice
  • Macadamia Nuts

This hummus tastes very similar to traditional Greek hummus, but it’s got just a hint of a little something extra. It’s still got the zesty garlic, bright lemon juice, and the creamy chickpeas. But, the macadamia nuts give it an extra depth of flavor and a slightly sweet taste. For photography purposes, I sprinkled a bit of chopped up macadamia nuts on top of the hummus, but if you’d prefer your hummus creamy (as I do), I would just leave them off – You’ll still have plenty of that rich, nutty flavor in there.

  • Turn on the blender and toss in the garlic through the lid. Process until minced.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients and process until smooth.
  • Serve at room temperature, or chilled.

Simply YUM serve with soft crusty breads like turkish or ciabatta for a yummy bite.

Our third Dish is equally as unique and designed to turn heads.

3. Macadamia Pesto

This easy recipe is bursting with bold, fresh flavors, and so simple to prepare. Make a batch—it only takes a few minutes.

You can find the ingredients for this recipe in almost any grocery store. Here's what you'll need:

Macadamia Pesto

  • Macadamia Nuts
  • Fresh Garlic
  • Fresh Basil + Flat-Leaf Parsley
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Salt (I prefer to use Kosher Salt.)

This tasty sauce couldn't be easier to make! Here's how to do it:

  1. Place garlic and nuts in a food processor, then pulse until finely chopped.
  2. Add basil, parsley, olive oil, parmesan, and salt to garlic mixture. Process until smooth (or desired texture).
  3. Season to taste with salt.

And that's really all there is to it ... so simple, right? If you're anything like me, you'll tempted to eat spoonfuls of this delectable Pesto with Macadamia Nuts straight from your food processor (it's that good).
